Shuzies

I used to love drawing shoes when I was little, designing my own shoes and making a catalogue which I'd make my mum look through. Drawing shoes is something I've not done in ages so I had a bit of fun yesterday.

There once was a fennec named Frederick

So there once was a fennec named Frederick,
Who liked to find tasty things to lick.
Flapjacks and honey nut loops,
toffee apples and chocolate soups.

But it's not healthy to only have things sweet,
for a good diet you also need meat.

I need savoury and sweet thought Frederick that day,
Then I can teach other fennecs the way.
Fairy buns and strudels are fine sometimes,
but I could help others in the form of my rhymes.

Listen up! Bob, Harris and Mary!
We can eat cake but we also need dairy.
We need veg, meat and also fish,
together we can make a real tasty dish.

Frederick sang and rapped throughout town,
and the fennec's faces turned to a smile from a frown.
After a pint or more of ginger beer,
Frederick had another fantastic idea!

If only there were a way to combine savoury and sweet
I would only need two eggs to beat....

A sweet Pancake with a meaty, veggie filling would really hit the spot.
Steak, asparagus and a sprinkle of sugar was the lot.

So the fennecs ate pancakes from then on,
and all because of Frederick's Song.

-The End-

So I might make this a weekly thing, if I remember. I'm no poet but its a little fun thing I try to do each day. I did have a drawing of a rapping fennec but he got the cut, sadly.

Farmer Fox

Farmer fox before he was sadly cut from the Chickens Can't see in the dark extravaganza! He looks suspiciously like Flint the fox yet with less dapper clothing.

Oscar

He is Oscar the llama, who likes eating flowers. He's been lost for a while, but I just found him on my USB. Happy days! He makes me smile.

Happy Easter

I'm rather late with any the easter wishes and related imagery, but due to the amazing weather I couldn't help but to sit outside, product of which is this quite detailed (yet crude at the same time) map of my garden. Which I then made into a treasure map easter egg hunt along side rhyming riddles for my nephew and nieces. Kept them amused for quite a few hours.

Birds to bird houses

It was such a lovely weekend, that I decided from drawing birds last week I would jazz these bird boxes up a bit. Not sure what the birds will think of them though.

Fish, Flowers and....Insects

Its been long since my last blog entry, so here we go. last week since finishing my picture book Chickens Can't See In The Dark for OUP, I have been alas getting on and writing my second book. Yet on the side I've set myself a little project to do some more serious grown up work, ( a break from trumpet playing hares and grumpy bears).

First Plant!

I have no idea what type of plant this is, but in my excitement of it being the first plant in my room I thought I'd need to share this with you, in a drawing medium obviously. Its pretty ace and matches the unintentional red/orangey theme I seem to have going on in my office area at the moment.
